Colorado police say a man with too much "Star Trek" on his mind used a sword modeled after the weapon carried by Klingon warriors to demand money from two convenience stores.
My absolute favorite part of this story is that, according to the Denver Post, "Both clerks described the weapon as a Star Trek Klingon-type sword, called a 'bat'leth.'"
Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Her five year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.
I guess he took "Go where no man has gone before" a tad too literally. Who but a true trekkie would rob a store with a very distinctive weapon? Who but a true trekkies could describe the weapon by its Star Trek name?

ReplyDeleteGive those guys a raise. And maybe a girlfriend?
It would have been cool if they pulled out a toy phaser from behind the counter, and the guy dropped his weapon and surrendered.

This whole thing has the feel of a Family Guy skit
