History!

I am a sucker for watching history, especially in the sports arena. I fell for McGuire and Sosa's trip past Roger Maris and Bonds' run past them - asterisks aside, the history watching was exciting. I loved Cal Ripken's historical consecutive games started streak. I rooted for the Patriot's in last year's Super Bowl so we could see a historic perfect-season. This year we watched history again, albeit the sadistic-type: The Detroit Lions are the first ever NFL team to go 0-16!

Drew, Drew, Drew. What are we going to do with you?

You know, just because you live in a state that doesn't have it's own professional football team does not mean you're allowed to just throw around loyalties like that.

Around here, it's the kind of thing that pits brother against brother. Like the Civil War, with sneaker endorsements.

That being said... it's a good day when the Lions lose. ;-)

Not sure how I am throwing around my loyalties here. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan (I think you knew that), and because we knocked ourselves out of the playoff race today, I can be a fan of history making.

And good job by your Packers by being part of that process (they handed the Lion's the history making loss today).

For any NASCAR fans out there, next season Jimmie Johnson has a shot at being the first driver in the history of the sport to win four back-to-back championships. He is one of only two to 3peat.

Hahaha. Right or wrong, I admit that I am not a fan of NASCAR. What historic NASCAR events did you enjoy watching?

I enjoyed, as I said, Jimmie being the second ever to 3peat. I enjoyed Dale Earnhardt tying Richard Petty for 7 total championships. Lots of good moments there.
