And the Oscar goes to ...
Statistics savant, Nate Silver (FiveThirtyEight.com), used logistic regression to predict this year's Oscar winners. Not a whole lot of surprises there, but its cool to read how statistics can be used to predict, like the electoral vote, the Oscars.

I agree with Nate in all but two categories. I think Cruz takes Supporting Actress and Penn wins Lead Actor.
Nate makes a good point that there will be some Prop 8 apologia, he ic correct that they really can't do it on Director of Picture.
Rourke and Penn had equally impressive performances, they are both "love em or hate em" actors, so Prop 8 becomes the tie-breaker (though is in no way takes away from Penn's performance.
