Super Bowl thoughts

Wow. What a great game. It looked like it was going to be a doozer, and then the fourth quarter happened. There were times when it seemed like both teams were trying to penalize themselves into defeat. The historic 100 yd. interception return was, of course, the game - that was a 14 point swing.

Larry Fitzgerald is a freak. Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes stepped his game up and showed that he was worthy of being a first round pick, but Fitzgerald is in a league unto himself. Kurt Warner showed that he still has a lot of game and doesn't need to retire hastily.

Steeler's owner Rooney giving a post-game shout-out to Obama was kinda neat-o. He was a big supporter of Obama during the campaign.

The worst commercial EVER: The McGruber/Pepsruber commercial. That whole advertising team should be fired ... immediately. Me, a chimpanzee, and a rock could have been more creative.

Oh yeah, congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Well, I thought it was a great game. I was wrong about the Cards winning outright but they did beat the spread. And if you will check a previous thread, I set the line at Pitt -4.

Also, I think the last play was an incomplete pass, not a fumble. At the very least it should have been reviewed more carefully.

Still, has to rank in the top 5 or 10 Super Bowls as far as excitement goes.

I agree with you on the last play, Darren. I thought that it was an incomplete pass myself, or at the very least, worth a review.

The MacGruber ads are a crappy variation on a crappy repeat SNL sketch. The only difference is that it usually doesn't have a Pepsi tie-in, and Richard Dean Anderson (aka the real MacGyver) isn't there.

They started airing during SNL last night. I thought it was just an extremely annoying version of their normal SNL commercials.

Damn shame is what it is.
