Saith Goode on the deficit:
According to Goode, the feds borrowed $600 billion and racked up a $400 billion deficit during Bush’s eight years as president. But since taking office in January, Obama has borrowed $1.1 trillion, and the federal deficit now stands at $1.5 trillion, the former lawmaker said. But, Goode quickly reverted to ... well ... himself:
Goode ... said Obama supports increasing aid to foreign countries.I have a feeling that we are going to see this picture, courtesy of the Martinsville Bulletin, over and over again.
United States “citizenship doesn’t count for anything” today, said Goode, who fought for stricter controls on immigration. He said the nation needs lawmakers “who care for American citizens first.”
“Let’s forget about being politically correct, and let’s do the right thing for the United States,” he added.

Goode DOES care about American citizens, unfortunately, they have to be white, very rich, and willing to fork over large amounts towards his campaign. Other than that, they are pretty much on their own. If you don't believe me, look at the stats for Martinsville. Just one example of how he fed them to the sharks while becoming a millionaire....
Congressman Perriello will never be as monetarily rich as Goode, but Tom will be rich in friends and in giving of himself. There is a big difference. Too bad Goode will never see that....
Hey, Drew...thanks for posting a CURRENT photo of Goode!! I'm so sick of the one from the 70's.
Teabagging + Virgil Goode = throw up in my mouth.
Just a little bit.
i don't know who virgil goode is, but he looks like a moron. more importantly though, i don't care.
what i do care about is that 40% of income earners in america do not pay any federal taxes. this is thanks to our "progressive" tax system. it's absurd and has to stop.
but where is the incentive for democrats to modify a thing? they've managed to create a voter bloc for all of eternity. quite frankly, it's amazing any republican could ever win a presidential race and it's a testament to america's sense of fairness that we were able to elect one (albiet not my fav) in the last 20 years.
Goode is a relic. If you are a politician in this day and age and don't have a Twitter acct., don't have a Facebook acct. and don't interact with your constituents one on one like Perriello, then you're an antiquity. Or, a stuffed animal.
Drew. I understand the need to mock, but really? Kinda inappropriate.
CWP, to what do you object? I'll tone it down.
I think "teabagging" is over the line. And just because MSNBC does it... I don't know, Drew, it's a family blog, right? (Assuming I had a child,) how do I explain teabagging to my child?
Fair enough, CWP. Good call out. This, of course, is a family blog, so I meant no serious offense. I think the semantics of the phrase exonerate any maliciousness, but I did use a word with clear ambiguous meanings.
Because of the potentiality to upset people, and given the spirit of this blog, I will not be so provocative about this subject in the future.
I say ole chap, don't you think that a washed up ex representative should be that close to water? It may make you fake more rapidly. Tut tut and all that.....Goode Joke what?
Thanks, Drew. I know there was no malicious intent. :)
Wow, CW, your kids read this blog? I'm impressed. Kids that don't know what teabagging is won't realize that double entendre is double entendre. Its a joke that only works if you have the capacity to look up what teabagging is or if you already know what it is. Also, I never get the argument from parents about "how do I explain this to my kids?" In the world we live in everyone's kids are, through the internet or through their peers, going to be exposed to a lot of screwed up stuff that parents better be prepared to explain.
